Le Fabbriche is the new headquarters of Fondazione Orestiadi, situated in the ancient heart of Agrigento’s historic center. It is a new multidisciplinary cultural hub dedicated to contemporaneity, located within an ancient architectural complex: the factories, which are the spaces beneath the Church of San Francesco and the adjacent Conventino dei Frati Francescani Minori dating back to the 14th century. It is a captivating space of great historical value, now animated by contemporaneity and new cultural projects: art exhibitions and screenings, theatrical readings and one-act plays, readings and events, presentations and conferences, concerts, and various creative experimentation activities. Developed in collaboration with the Archaeological and Landscape Park of the Valley of the Temples, the municipal administration, and the Diocesan Museum, the new space of Fondazione Orestiadi in Agrigento is not merely a place for cultural consumption but a center for artistic production and a forge of ideas. Fondazione Orestiadi in Gibellina is one of the most prominent cultural institutions in Sicily and the country, active for many decades in the fields of contemporary art and theater, enhancing the diverse languages in which they find expression. A cultural experience of great prestige that now enriches the city of Agrigento with a new cultural offer.
The indoor spaces host artistic and museum exhibitions and events.
