Dolce & Gabbana returns to Sicily, to Palma di Montechiaro, Agrigento and Sciacca: places with a strong personality that will certainly inspire the collections. If 2017 had seen the cities of Palermo and Monreale become exclusive scenarios in which high fashion had triumphed, this year the baton passes to the province of Agrigento, ready to welcome more than 300 excellent guests from all over the world and about 50 between photographers and press officers from the most famous international newspapers.
The sicilian three-days of Dolce & Gabbana will begin Thursday, July 4 in Palma di Montechiaro where the city of the Gattopardo will open the dances of an event that is expected to be very armored and suggestive. According to rumors, women’s high fashion will embellish places of equal beauty, starting from Palazzo Ducale and also involving the splendid Mother Church and the Monastery.
Agrigento will be the next stage and will see, on the date of July 5, a monumental and exclusive runway able to evoke the immortal beauty of the city: to frame the second Dolce & Gabbana show will be, in fact, the Temple of Concordia. The Valley of the Temples – for the occasion, inaccessible to the public – will thus celebrate the 2,600th anniversary of the foundation of Akragas, between timeless beauty and majestic elegance, a union that the House’s collection will certainly honor.
On 6 July, the undisputed star will be Sciacca, ready to welcome the men’s collection for the final evening of the event. The heart of the town on the sea will see models of international fame walking the catwalk between the grandeur of the Palazzo Comunale and the elegance of Piazza Scandaliato, while particular attention will be paid, according to rumors, to one of the main sources of inspiration for the collection: the red gold of Sciacca, the coral.
Expectations are very high, between exclusive creations and dedicated collections, to celebrate the features characterizing the three cities of the Agrigentino. Fashion, art, architecture, elegance and “sicilianity” will be the ingredients for a celebration of beauty in great style. All that remains is to wait for the big show to begin.
